  • The Youth Programme is at the heart of Oman Sail. Since launching in 2008, we have introduced more than 22,000 Omanis of all ages to sailing. Oman Sail operates a Performance Pathway that creates the steps to success, from identifying talent within the community, to retaining high performing athletes until they are ready to be selected for Oman’s National Sailing Squad. At the heart of the Performance Pathway are the inspirational World Sailing accredited Omani instructors at each of our sailing schools. They develop the skills of sailors and identify promising young Omanis who have the potential to pursue the sport professionally. The best sailors are chosen to represent the Sultanate of Oman in competitions.Oman Sail has created a generation of Omani sailors who can fly the Sultanate’s flag all over the world and make the country proud. Today, the Sultanate’s notable performances on the global stage now benefit our whole community, as Oman’s high-achieving youth sailors have evolved to become national role models.
  • Oman Sail’s senior professional sailors seek adventure: crossing oceans at breakneck speeds, pushing boundaries and breaking records, whilst battling extreme fatigue and challenging weather conditions. Our athletes travel all over the world participating in international regattas, where they are pitted against the forces of nature for the day - or sometimes weeks - at a time.To date, Oman Sail has trained an Omani to become the first Arab to sail non-stop around the world. The Sultanate has become the most successful nation to compete in the coveted Extreme Sailing Series™ and our MOD70 team, featuring 50% Omani crew, has broken three world records for Oman.Whether competing in long distance races far out of sight of land, or participating in some of the most exciting inshore racing championships in the world - with 40 foot high performance catamarans hurtling around tight racing courses – Oman Sail’s senior crews continue to deliver magnificent achievements, becoming role models for the next generation and national heroes in their own right.
  • In partnership with BP Oman and the Oman Parasailing Committee, Oman Sail launched SailFree, a Para Sailing programme that is first of its kind in the GCC and MENA regions. Dedicated to persons with disabilities across Oman, SailFree takes participants through an inspirational pathway in the sport of sailing with an end goal to form national team to represent Oman in International sailing regattas such as the 2022 Para Sailing World Championships.
  • Launched with Sohar Port & Freezone, Sohar Works aims to develop a strong Omani workforce for the port’s tenant companies. Within the programme, Oman Sail’s learning and development division, Zimam, provides the recruited graduates with key personal and behavioural competencies based on experiential learning geared to enhance their soft skills. The course will be complemented by technical training at the International Maritime College Oman and 40 weeks of on the job training at the tenant companies.
